Ramallah, Palestine – Dec 18 2017 - Union Construction and Investment Co. (UCI) announces with great pride its winning of the Best Management Team award in the real estate development sector for 2017, during the second edition of the Arab Best Awards. The ceremony was held in Marrakesh, Morocco, with the participation of 10 Arab countries.

The Arab Best Award honors innovative institutions and individuals in various fields, with a view to encouraging Arab achievement and innovation. In addition, the awards promote initiatives that help develop Arab labour institutions and motivate young people to succeed in different fields of knowledge through the stimulation of competition and innovative spirit.

In the real estate development sector, three Arab companies from three different countries competed for the awards. The three Arab companies are from Morocco, UAE and Palestine.

Commenting on the occasion, Khaled Al Sabawi, UCI’s Vice Chairman and CEO, said “We are very grateful for the recognition. Receiving the Arab Best Award is an honor, especially considering the constant challenges we face operating in Palestine.”

The Arab Best Awards are one of the most important and valuable awards ceremonies in the region, which recognizes exceptional organizations and professionals in the Arab world in three core areas: business excellence; government, leadership and sports; and social and community contribution. The award categories are highly competitive and the winners are selected according to a merit system featuring 17 criteria, including leadership style, alignment to strategic business goals, and administrative productivity.

This is the latest in a number of achievements recorded by UCI in recent years; a level of success that Al Sabawi attributes to the company’s implementation of entrepreneurial projects of significant economic importance to the Palestinian real estate sector. Such projects reflect and result from UCI’s commitment and responsiveness to its responsibilities, as well as the ability and vision of its management team, which together contribute to the continued success of the company and the meeting of its ambitious targets.

Al Sabawi emphasized that these awards reinforce UCI’s status as a leader in the field of Palestinian real estate development. However, he cautioned against complacency. “We must continue to push for further achievements and seek solutions to the challenges faced by the real estate sector in Palestine.
